Sound of Sun is a short film about a rural Egyptian woman called Nashwa who we slowly discover to be something akin to a vampire. It charts her efforts to suppress her blood-thirsty nature for the man she loves amidst a backdrop of class struggle. It is art house in style and has a playful tone that subverts romantic clichés from oriental melodramas and tele-novellas.
